Who needs more than one language
English works for a lot of Malta businesses, since locals and many tourists search in English. But some customers feel more at home in their own language, and that can make the difference when they're choosing where to eat, stay or book a trip.
A second language is worth thinking about if you're in one of these situations.
- Your regulars are mostly local and would like a Maltese version
- You get lots of Italian visitors, by ferry or plane
- You run a boat trip, dive centre or tour that sells to groups from one country
- You own a short let and want check-in details guests can follow easily
- You run a language school and recruit students from abroad
How we handle translation
We write your English content first and get it right. Then AI drafts the other versions, which is quick and usually reads well. A person goes through every page to catch odd phrasing, wrong terms and anything that didn't come across.
AI translation still makes mistakes, especially with Maltese, place names, dish names and local expressions. For anything that matters, like allergens, prices, cancellation terms or safety notes, we recommend a native speaker reviews it before it goes live. If you or someone on your team speaks the language, that's ideal.
How the site works for visitors
Each language gets its own version of the pages, with a simple switch so visitors can change language. We set things up so search engines can see which page is in which language, which helps the right version show up for the right person.
Your WhatsApp button, Google Maps link and contact details stay on every version, so a guest reading in Italian can still message you in one tap.
Price
The base website is €150 for up to 3 pages. Each extra language adds work, both building the pages and checking the text, so we quote it after a chat. The cost depends on how many pages and how many languages you need.
Keep in mind that every change later has to happen in each language too. For yearly renewal and change prices, see the full price list.
Start with your main language
If you're unsure, start with English and add a second language once you see where your customers come from. Our guide to websites for tourists covers what visitors look for. When you're ready, send the brief at /start/ and we reply within 1 working day.
